Dr. Mutharaju K.R. is a highly skilled GI, Bariatric, Metabolic, and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon with extensive training and experience. He completed his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI), one of India’s top medical colleges, and pursued his MS in General Surgery from the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, regarded as one of the best in the country. He further specialized in bariatric, metabolic, and GI surgery at Asian Bariatrics, Ahmedabad, where he trained under pioneers Dr. Mahendra Narwaria and Dr. Sanjay Patolia. Dr. Mutharaju is proficient in performing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, mini gastric bypass, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, gastric balloon procedures, and complex revisional surgeries with minimal complication rates. His primary focus is on metabolic surgery for the remission of type 2 diabetes in obese patients and the management of obesity-related conditions such as sleep apnea, dyslipidemia, and hypertension.
